ST JAMES TOWN / CABBAGETOWN

St. James Town Community Corner or simply “The Corner” is a newly renovated, fully accessible set of offices, meeting spaces, program rooms, public access computers and community kitchen dedicated to local initiatives and services to benefit the neighbourhood. Every day sees a variety of activities – people asking for information, a local Tamil dance group, senior’s programs, health groups for women, settlement programs and community meetings.

Cabbagetown is also one of Toronto’s most popular neighbourhoods. Its residents come from a wide variety of backgrounds, however they all share a strong sense of community spirit and pride in their neighbourhood. This community spirit is put on display every September during the Cabbagetown Fall Festival that runs for an entire weekend and features a mini marathon, historical walking tours, a parade and a community wide yard sale.
