CHURCH-YONGE CORRIDOR

The Toronto of today and of yesterday meet in the Yonge and Church district. Heritage facades and Victorian streetscapes now greet gleaming condominiums and soaring towers. The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres and Massey Hall curtsey to the flashing lights of Dundas Square and the Eaton Centre. Maple Leaf Gardens meets Ryerson University.

The Church-Yonge area draws a hip, eclectic demographic, from the concentration of arts and design, media and technology professionals in Cabbagetown to the university crowd to the established and respectable gay community.

The area offers pedestrian- and transit-friendly access to Toronto’s exciting culture and entertainment scene, as well as a spectrum of street and mall shopping. Thanks to Riverdale Farm and the Don Valley, the area also has a delightful pastoral side, with parkland, sports fields and even a farmers’ market.
